Kam Bugger is an independent singer-songwriter whose “backroad soul” style is turning heads in the country and folk scene.
A finalist in several nationally renowned songwriting competitions, her music is fit for a roadtrip west, a day fishing in the river, or around a campfire.
Kam recently released four independent acoustic singles — a collection of original songs that are professionally produced while staying true to her raw, rootsy essence. Recorded in St. Louis, these songs reflect the lifeline of themes she loves to write about, grounded in honesty, freedom, and real life experience.
She’s currently working with the legendary Jeff Huskins on a series of three new full-band songs, marking the next chapter of her sound. The first release, “Snake In The Grass,” was recorded in Dolby Atmos at BMG Studios in Nashville and is slated for release in early 2026.
Lyrically, Kam’s songs showcase her gift for storytelling, each one painting vivid pictures of love, life, and the open road. Together, her acoustic releases serve as both an introduction to Kam Bugger’s artistic identity and a bold statement of her independence and creative control.
While her current singles capture a stripped-down, intimate sound — recorded fully acoustic, often sitting on the studio floor alongside her producers — Kam is already expanding her sonic range through these upcoming full-band recordings.
“Kam Bugger performed “Poor Man Bones,” her debut single that pairs raw lyricism with blues-country grit. Hints of folk and roots rock came through in her delivery, each line carrying the kind of authenticity that makes even a brief performance feel grounded and real.” - East of 8th Music Blog
